I both love and hate the term Artificial Intelligence (AI). I love it because it was the topic of my master's thesis at SSE, and I have been interested in the field since then (especially after watching the series Person of Interest which started airing around that time). I hate the term because of the way it has been hyped, misused and abused.
I decided to create a course about the subject in December 2025; I wanted to collect my thoughts on the matter, and create a course people in a position to decide on such projects can use. Said and done, two weeks later the course "AI Course for Leaders and Decision Makers" and the platform I created for it using an LLM tool stood ready.
The course includes 5 hours of material (I filmed and edited myself) divided into 6 segments and 42 lectures. Each module has a set of quizzes, and the course includes a final examination.
What is my teaching style you ask? If you have worked with me, you might already know (creating workshops and filmed educational material has been part of some of my consultant assignments): I prefer to be hands-on and direct, and especially the prompt engineering and plan creation includes examples and tasks to be carried out while watching the lectures.
Creating a whole course without using the big platforms out there and without using external help does take some planning. Below are some of the steps I needed to take:
- Scripting each lecture, with a clear red line between all 43 lectures.
- Decide on b-rolls material (e.g. background videos, effects)
- Learn how to edit videos using DaVinci Resolve and fix the audio
- Creating sub-titles that are time-stamped
- Planning the coding of the platform (incl. security, email services, loading videos, storage and so much more) using Claude Code
I might be launching the course platform as a standalone service in the future; stay tuned.
